After studying interior architecture, Marie embarked on a transformative two-year trip around the world. Seeking a new path, she delved into management and spent a year in an office in 2021. However, the corporate world left her unfulfilled, and her longing for creative work led her to briefly explore the culinary arts in a restaurant kitchen. It was during this time that she stumbled upon a tufting workshop and discovered her innate talent for this unique craft.
With a background in drawing and a newfound love for tufting, Marie's artistic prowess soared to new heights. Her artistic philosophy is simple yet vibrant: "the more colours, the better." Her creations showcase a harmonious blend of shades, patterns, and textures that breathe life into every piece she crafts.
Marie is a people person who thrives in collaborative environments. She values the exchange of ideas and enjoys working alongside fellow artists. Currently, she is meticulously developing her business plan in the realm of tufting, aiming to establish herself as a prominent figure in the industry. Since November 2022, she has found her creative haven in a shared studio located in the artistic neighbourhood of Borgerhout.
Sustainability lies at the heart of Marie's artistic choices. She exclusively works with natural wool, an eco-friendly and durable material. Her commitment to using sustainable materials not only contributes to a healthier environment but also enhances the beauty and longevity of her creations. From captivating wall decorations to luxurious rugs and charming stools, Marie's imagination knows no bounds.
In addition to her creative endeavours, Marie opens her studio doors for special open atelier days. These events offer a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to immerse themselves in the world of tufting. Wij hadden een super super fijne workshop bij Marie. Het was voor mij en mijn twee vriendinnen de eerste ervaring met tuften maar konden onder prima begeleiding meteen iets mooi maken. We raden de workshop zeker en vast aan! Bedankt Marie

Great activity for a Saturday afternoon! I enjoyed this 2-hour workshop in Marie's welcoming studio where she showed us the basics of tufting and guided us through developing our own creations. Marie is super friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend.
