Join Sue at her seaside studio in Shoreham Port, Southwick and learn the skills of mosaic making. With over 15 years experience, Sue has worked with some of the world's leading mosaic artists and is keen to share her knowledge with you.
In this workshop you'll create a mosaic bird for your garden. The session will start with an introduction to Sue and her studio. Sue will explain the basics and help you choose a bird shape from a selection of prepared shapes.
Sue's studio has a wide variety of materials including coloured tiles, glass nuggets and different shapes and textures. She will guide you through the options and help you choose the pieces for your mosaic.
Sue will then demonstrate how to use the mosaic tools and techniques to cut and shape the pieces. With her guidance you'll begin to assemble your mosaic bird. Whether you're new to mosaics or have some experience, Sue's guidance will help you throughout the process.
At the end of the workshop, Sue will explain the grouting process. You can choose to have her grout your bird after the workshop, ready to collect, or you can take the grout and instructions to finish it at home. If you prefer, Sue can send the finished bird to you for a small additional charge.

With over 15 years experience, Sue has honed her craft alongside some of the world's leading mosaic artists. Based in the artistic hub of Brighton, Sue creates and teaches from her sunny seaside studio on the seafront at Shoreham Port in Southwick.
Sue's expertise lies in creating stunning mosaic commissions and working with communities to bring large scale projects to life. Her passion for mosaics is driven by a deep appreciation of glass, colour and the intricate art of craft. She revels in the unique texture and reflective qualities of mosaics and the way they can transform outdoor spaces into works of art.
What makes Sue's workshops so special is her enthusiasm for sharing the joy of mosaics. She loves teaching others the techniques of this ancient art form and encouraging them to let their creativity flow. I can highly recommend this work shop. The studio is in a lovely setting and Sue was very welcoming and has great experience in her profession, explaining all the tools and steps along the way, giving advice and ideas for the projects. There is a wide range of tiles and materials to choose from too. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and signed up straight away for another course!
