Join Fiona, a talented London-based visual artist, for an inspiring workshop where you'll learn to weave on a frame loom and create a stunning piece of wall art.
The workshop begins with an introduction to Fiona and her welcoming studio. You'll gain an insight into her creative process and see how she combines traditional techniques with contemporary flair.
Fiona will then introduce you to the art of tapestry weaving. You'll learn about the materials and the table loom you'll be working with. Fiona's clear and engaging instructions will ensure you understand the basics before you dive into your project.
Fiona will then show you how to set up your loom and teach you a variety of techniques to add texture and interest to your weaving. From simple weaves to more intricate patterns, you'll have the opportunity to experiment and develop your skills under Fiona's expert guidance.
Now it's time to get creative! You'll create a decorative wall hanging using a variety of weaving techniques. Feel free to bring any interesting yarns or materials you'd like to incorporate into your piece. Fiona will be on hand to offer tips and support to ensure your creation is both unique and beautifully crafted.
At the end of the workshop you'll have a stunning piece of wall art to take home !

Textile Artist
Meet Fiona, a talented visual artist based in London who works in painting, textiles and mixed media. Fiona brings a unique twist to traditional techniques, blending play, DIY methods and explore tactility and the handmade in an increasingly digital world
Fiona's artistic journey began at the National College of Art in Dublin where she graduated with a BA in Painting. She further honed her skills with an MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design. Over the years Fiona has exhibited her work internationally with shows throughout Ireland and the UK. Her work is held in prestigious collections including the Office of Public Works in Dublin and numerous private collections.
Her studio, located in a bright and airy shared space in South East London, is a hub of creativity. Fiona enjoys teaching workshops as a way of meeting new people and sharing her extensive skills. Her workshops offer participants the chance to immerse themselves in the world of mixed media and explore their creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment.

This was a fantastic workshop! Fiona was extremely knowledgeable and patient with us. Over the session she taught us how to set up and prepare the loom, and how to incorporate us a variety of weaving techniques to into our pieces. She worked with each of us to help us develop extremely bespoke and individual pieces and followed up with helpful links and resources to continue weaving. I was extremely happy with my tapestry and would highly recommend the session!
