Welcome to Vicky's weaving workshop!
This class starts with an introduction to Vicky and her craft. Learn about her unique approach to weaving and what drives her creativity.
With Vicky's guidance, you'll begin by setting up a small frame loom for tapestry-style weaving. This process will form the basis of your weaving experience.
As you delve into the art of weaving, Vicky will introduce you to different techniques and patterns. From plain weave to intricate Rya weave fringes, you'll explore a range of methods to add texture and visual interest to your pieces.
Throughout the workshop Vicky will encourage experimentation and creativity, allowing you to express yourself freely through your weaving.
Towards the end of the session you'll refine your work, trimming and cleaning your weaving to ensure a polished end product.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced weaver, Vicky's workshop offers a welcoming environment to explore the beauty of textile art and unleash your creative potential!

Rencontrez Vicky
Textile designer and artist
Meet Vicky, a dedicated weaver who discovered her passion after a sudden career change. Vicky decided to enrol on a design course at the Cass School of Architecture and Design in London. It was here that she discovered her true interest in weaving.
Shortly after graduating, Vicky entered her work into a competition and won an award from the Worshipful Company of Clothworkers. This award gave her access to a studio and a loom for two years, enabling her to develop and expand her craft.
During her time spent in this studio, Vicky's work really came into its own. She is now known for her experimental approach, often mixing textures and incorporating three-dimensional elements. She is inspired by symbols, talismans, folk beliefs and superstitions which she incorporates into her textiles and woven pieces.
As well as weaving, Vicky works part-time for a charity that supports people with dementia. This combination of creative and charitable work highlights her compassionate and committed nature.
Join Vicky and learn from her expertise and passion. Whether you're new to weaving or want to improve your skills, Vicky's workshops provide a welcoming and practical environment to explore the art of weaving.
