  • In this two-day workshop, each day lasting six hours, Davy leads participants in Amsterdam through the craft of turning a tree trunk into a handcrafted stool. This experience deviates from traditional woodworking methods, offering a faster, unique approach.

The workshop teaches attendees to use tools like the fetch knife, planers, band saw, and column drill, while imparting valuable knowledge about wood and woodworking techniques. Designed for beginners and enthusiasts alike, no prior woodworking experience is necessary.

By the workshop's conclusion, each participant will have created their own stool from a pre-cut tree trunk, gaining durable skills in the process. The workshop consists of two parts; the first session's date is set, with the second scheduled in consultation with Davy. This format ensures a thorough and fulfilling learning experience, culminating in both a functional piece of furniture and lasting craftsmanship skills.

Discover the world of Davy Wouda, where craftsmanship and sustainability meet. With a deep-rooted passion for beauty, quality, ergonomics and sustainability, Davy creates furniture that is not only functional but also tells a story. Each piece of furniture is a reflection of Davy's dedication and love for the craft, a tangible piece of his passion.

For Davy, it's not just about the final product; the process is equally important. He enjoys passing on his knowledge and skills, inspiring others to discover the art of woodworking for themselves and experience the joy of creating something unique and personal.

Environmental friendliness is at the heart of his work. He consciously chooses wood from local trees - pruned or fallen - and reuses materials wherever possible. Each piece of furniture is finished with natural oils, waxes, paints, or soaps, highlighting the beauty of the wood.

His signature use of hand tools sets his work apart. With precision and skill, he achieves a quality that is unmatched by machine work. His designs pay homage to timeless masterpieces from around the world, from Chinese Ming furniture to Swedish eating spoons and from Danish mid-century furniture to Windsor chairs.
