Create a beautiful portrait sculpture with Emma

Led by Emma, an experienced artist with expertise in ceramics, stone carving and fine art, this workshop offers a hands-on approach to sculpture, focusing on technique and craftsmanship.

Begin your journey by making a skull mould, a fundamental step in sculpting. Under Emma's guidance, you'll learn about ecorche, a method of sculpting muscles from the skeleton upwards, and gain practical skills that form the basis of classical sculpting techniques.

As the workshop progresses, you'll study the anatomy of the human face, identifying muscles and modelling them in clay. Emma will show you how to add realistic features such as skin texture, lips, nose and eyes, guiding you through each step with clear instructions and demonstrations.

Take a break half way through to recharge and network with other participants over tea. It's a chance to share experiences, ask questions and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow artists in a relaxed setting.

At the end of the workshop you'll have the opportunity to take your air-dried clay creation home with you.
