Design and carve your own silver ring with Olive

This workshop with Olive begins with an explanation of the processes and materials involved in making a wax carved ring. The artisan will demonstrate how to correctly size your ring and begin the carving process using a saw, wax file, scalpel and other tools. You'll be guided through the session using various special tools and carving techniques. Olive will also pass around some of her own jewellery pieces to help you visualise how your final ring might look and feel once cast in silver.

Next you will have the opportunity to sketch out your initial ideas. Olive will discuss these with you one-to-one and once you've decided on your design, she'll advise you on how best to bring it to life. With plenty of time for personal guidance, hands-on making and discussion, you'll not only create a unique piece of jewellery, but also gain new skills and insights into the wax carving process.

You will also have the opportunity to add gemstones if you wish, these will incur an additional cost on the day. 

After the workshop, your wax creation will be cast in silver, polished and returned to you within two weeks.
