Join The Knitwit Stable for an inspiring workshop that will take you on a journey through the fascinating world of wool, from farm to finished product. 

The day begins at The Knitwit Stable, the only initiative in the Netherlands to show the entire wool production process. From the raising of the animals to the production of local, ethical wool products, this farm and knitting studio is committed to transparency at every stage. You will be introduced to the resident Merino sheep, Texel sheep and Angora goats, giving you an insight into their care, sustainable shearing and the qualities of their wool.

Through demonstrations and a screening of the documentary From Goat to Garment, you'll learn about the steps involved in turning raw fleece into high quality yarn and the craftsmanship that goes into making a jumper. This is your chance to explore the intersection of sustainability and fashion, while gaining practical knowledge of what goes into making woollen garments.

After a delicious lunch, it's time to roll up your sleeves! In the afternoon, you'll learn to knit your very own woollen hat on a Brother hand knitting machine. With step-by-step guidance, even beginners can confidently create a cosy Dutch wool hat to take home.
